An ambitious project to link two existing Grade II listed buildings, along with a contemporary new building in the grounds. This project showcases a diverse range of materials, including stones, timbers, and metals, to craft unique design elements that reflect the heritage of the original Arts and Crafts structures.
This project comprises a roof extension and garden room extension to a Semi-detached Victorian villa in Greater London. The unique format of this house provides a long plan form with the side elevation being the ‘main’ elevation overlooking the garden.
This has opened up an opportunity to implement Permitted Development to provide a striking modern roof top extension, including the reconfiguring of a brick chimney to extend the massing of the loft extension. At ground floor, an angular roof form opens the garden room up to the landscaped gardens.
